FERRARI described the new 288 GTO quite as the fastest FERRARI, it ever gave 272 copies FERRARI 288 GTO built from autumn 1984 until spring 1985.

The FERRARI 288 GTO is a reconstruction on the basis FERRARI 308 GTB. Thus the engine FERRARI 288 GTO, in contrast to the transversebeing situated unit FERRARI 308 GTB, lengthwise following the transmission was built, which led to a 11 cm extended wheel base.
