Engine technically the BMW had to offer 507 two cylinders to more than the competition from Sindelfingen and was with the V8 for the American market in the best way prepared, but approached one with 150 HP, later 165 HP not to the performance specifications of the competition. In addition the late introduction on the market of the BMW 507und came to high manufacturing costs, which led in the long run 1959 to the produktionseinstellung after only 250 built copies.

With the BMW 507 shown here it concerns around the vehicle with the chassis number 6, thus one first produced itself copies. Interestingly enough this BMW 507 was exported as new vehicle to Italy and delivered ausweislich
the factory of delivery book to 31.01.1957.

The BMW 507 is a highlight in the history of the label BMW it developed on printing of the American importer, in order to be able to offer to the Mercedes 300 SL Paroli. 1955 were presented to the BMW 507 for the first time the public, could go however only 1956 into production. The design that much Italian seeming body comes from count Goertz and connects splendid the dynamics of a sports car with timeless elegance.

Before about 15 years this BMW 507 was submitted in Italy of a thorough restoration and shifted into its current status. The brake assembly was reequipped also on the front disc brakes of the later second series. Since at that time the vehicle was driven by its new German owner only very little.

Today the BMW 507 ranks one of these beautiful automobiles on the market among the most in demand pieces of collecting tank and is only rarely offered.
